Perhaps you’ve heard of Oktoberfest? It is, after all, one of the oldest festival traditions in the world, offering festival goers the opportunity to sample the absolute finest in German food, learn more about Bavarian culture and history and enjoy traditional music and entertainment.
Well, this ain’t gonna be anything like that! On October 4-5, 2013, we want to introduce you to the Bluff City Oktoberfest. This is Oktoberfest, Southern style!
Welcome to the authentic tastes, sights and sounds of life in the Bluff City
This fall, you won’t need a passport to experience this Oktoberfest — the festivities will land at your doorstep on Riverside Drive! The inaugural Bluff City Oktoberfest will feature live music, a beer garden, craft brew tasting, family activities, local artisans, food trucks and KCBS sanctioned BBQ cooking contest for adults and kids. The two day non-profit event will be produced for the benefit of a select group of charities in our community. The festival’s music stage at the foot of Monroe Avenue will be curated by the Memphis Bluegrass Association and Cedar Grove Opry (Cedar Grove, Tenn.).
FREE ADMISSION – OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
On behalf of our charitable beneficiaries we would ask patrons to consider making a $5 donation of cash or an equivalent canned good donation.
